Bringing Learning to Life Through STEM

The fourth-grade students worked collaboratively to bring learning to life through their Catapult designs and projects. In this hands-on STEM activity, they explored how different amounts of force impact distance and motion. Students tested and adjusted their designs, discovering how factors such as tension, angle, and launch force influence how far and how accurately an object travels.

As they experimented, students practiced making predictions, collecting data, measuring distances, and refining their designs based on results. They learned that motion can be described by speed and direction, and that greater force generally results in greater motion.

This project strengthened their understanding of scientific concepts while encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Our fourth graders truly launched their learning to new heights!
